Помощь с английским текстом
 

День добрый!
При переводе песни Джорджа Бенсона «Чёрная роза» выявилось, что во всех текстах, которые имеются в интернете, есть неточности : некоторые слова, как мне кажется, неправильные, другие слова пропущены, где-то очень странная группировка текста и т.д. Поэтому, пожалуйста, прошу помощи для определения этих слов /неточностей на слух. Надеюсь, что это получится, так как английская команда на форуме самая представительная.

Кое-где смысл поменялся кардинально. Буду думать теперь в новом ракурсе, потом напишу.

Получается, что кто-то неправильно «снял на слух» текст песни и, потом, эта неправильная копия разлетелась сотнями экземпляров по всему интернету и уже много лет лежит там недоделанная.

Остаются только несколько деталей:
My head keeps on pounding - наверно heart по логике лучше подойдет. На слух звучит одинаково.
И вот эта строчка пока остаётся в тумане:
But it was (b??? g???) so tight

Как её определить?

"Must be a hole in heaven way up in the sky".
Дыра в небесах, она оттуда вывалилась.

А что она обычно клала после любви?
"...she used to lay after the love..."
А то мне словарь на непереходное "lay" (без дополнения) только "produce eggs" даёт.
Или "lie" подразумевается?
Не, я тоже "lay" слышу, но мало ли.

В 3 абзаце в слове "little" опечатка.

Нет, "my head" чётко.
И по логике тоже.
[e] и [ɑː] – это совершенно не одинаково :)

used to lay - я думал, что это прошедшая форма от лежать

My heart keeps on pounding - моё сердце продолжает биться, колотиться..

My head keeps on pounding - моя голова продолжает пульсировать :) ?

Это прошедшее время глагола "лежать", но после "to" не употребляется прошедшее время. Либо настоящее время "откладывать яйца", но с чего бы?

Ну да, голова болезненно пульсирует, отчего он и страдает. Капли дождя ему там досаждают или просто болит.
А сердце и должно биться, от этого он бы не страдал.

Да, Ольга, ты права. Однозначно слышно head .
Нужно будет подумать, как это лучше перевести.
